Join us on Tuesday, July 24th for our next Albuquerque Ruby Group meeting.
Scott Lewis will be giving a presentation on Capistrano. Capistrano is an automated app deployment tool. If you've been managing your app deployments manually or with a collection of random scripts, you'll appreciate the simplicity and power of Capistrano.

We had a packed house for today's meeting.
Frank gave a presentation on the Watir web app testing tool. Dan followed with his presentation on JRuby and NetBeans.
The 'Topics' section of the website seems to work great for getting requests turned into actual meeting topics/presentations. Please submit topics you are interested in and vote on topics added by other members.
Another Ruby Group meeting newbie (Scott) scored the super-sweet O'Reilly tshirt!

We had eight people join us for today's meeting. Two new faces!
We talked about the May programming problem and an interesting listbox delimma. We also reviewed the new 'Topics' section of the website.
The new 'hands-on' format seems to be working well, so we'll continue using it for future meetings.

The meeting started out with the appearance of three MacBook/MacBook Pro laptops among the group. It looked like a small Rails consulting shop (hey now, there's an interesting idea). We tried the 'new' meeting format - the hands on approach, sans presentation.
There were some kinks, but we'll work it out. Get your topics in early for next month's meeting!

Happy 1st Birthday Albuquerque Ruby Group!
We had a great turnout at our meeting today. Three new Rubistas showed up! We did a review of our Ruby and Rails presentations and projects from the past year.
After the main meeting at the library, a bunch of us met up at Flying Star for dinner and cake to celebrate our first birthday! The Ruby Cookbook was won by Ben, one of our new Rubistas. That's the second month in a row a new member has won the top prize!

We had a great meeting. We solved the February Ruby Group problem and talked for over an hour about Rails security.
Mark showed up at the meeting for the first time today and walked away with a new copy of the excellent O'Reilly book 'Rails Recipes'! Who says the Ruby Newbies can't win the big prizes?!

Thanks to everyone that showed up for our January meeting! We had six regular members and two new faces in the crowd. Excellent!
Dave was all over the place with his description of the new rubyabq.org website. Hopefully some of it made sense!
Giles gave a whirlwind tour of the uber-cool Seaside web framework. Seaside is written in Smalltalk by Avi Bryant.
Once again, Ken walked away with a shiny new OReilly title - The Ruby Cookbook. Lucky bastard.
